THE winner of the Barrow and District disability association Christmas raffle has been announced.
The association announced that Ann Mason was took home first prize, she won £200 voucher which was donated by Stollers Furniture World.
On social media, Barrow and District disability association said: "The fundraising team had been waiting over 18 months to hold the raffle due to the pandemic. Covid has had a detrimental effect on us all including the Disability Association as fundraising came to a halt and the Willow Tree café was forced to close.
"The usual events such as tombola, coffee mornings etc were all out of the question due to the virus. Happily we were able to hold a reduced Christmas Grotto within Barrow Market Hall in December and raffle tickets were sold while the children waited to see Santa. We would like to thank the Market Hall traders and staff for all their wonderful help in staging the grotto.
"All monies raised from the Christmas Grotto and raffle tickets will go towards the ‘Buy A Brick’ campaign which will enable the extension of the centre to continue providing much needed space and privacy for those who need the help of the DABS team (Disability Advice & Benefits Service)."
