A growing storage company has chosen Kendal as the ideal town for its latest expansion.

Andrew Porter Ltd are based in the North-West and have just completed their fifth development at the company's Mintsfeet site with the addition of 60 20ft storage containers, making it the first facility of its kind in Kendal centre.

The units are designed mainly for local tradespeople, business owners, online retailers, or anyone requiring good access to the M6, to store stock, and have installed a 24/7 CCTV system and key fob access in the floodlit concrete yard with drive-up access.

Tim Aspey, Managing Director of Andrew Porter Ltd, said: “The UK is experiencing a storage shortage, therefore as a company, we’ve been incredibly lucky to be able to grow and fulfil the

demands domestically and commercially and be part of the solution.

"It’s also great to be providing the local Kendal and Cumbria community with a new facility for small businesses."

Manager Stephen Gregson, who has overseen the development plans, said: "Our first customers are ready to move in and seeing the containers arriving on-site has bought the last few months of hard work to life!

"I am sure that these will be full soon, and we'll be planning our sixth and seventh expansion before we know it."

The newest member of the team, Storage Co-ordinator Carol Hetherington said: "It’s an exciting time to join the local company, and I look forward to being a part of their success and meeting our customers over the next few months and beyond."

Last year, the company's fourth expansion saw them acquire their Dockray Hall site, also located in Kendal, which is home to 57 secure, airflow, temperature-controlled indoor self storage units

ranging from 15 sq ft to 150 sq ft.

This brings their total number of self storage units in Kendal to 195.
