AN audience was 'delighted' after a night at Kendal jazz club.
Hotcha! which is a long-established favourite at the Club, delighted the audience with a raft of new numbers mainly linked to Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, the originators of ‘Hot Club’ jazz.
With their classic line-up of violin, two guitars and double bass, they conjured up the atmosphere of a Montmartre basement, alternating gentle swing with heartfelt ballads.
The Jazz Club’s next gig is on Wednesday, March 9 at their usual venue of Kendal Rugby Club, and it features the first visit of saxophonist Roz Sluman’s Big Shoes Band, with their unusual mix of fiery bop and smooth vocals.
A favourite in the Carlisle area, it’s more than time for them to hit the M6 down to the South Lakes.
