AN elderly woman who was pulled from a blaze at her Windermere home has died from her injuries.

Sheila Jackson was pulled from a fire in her home, at Ghyll Close, Windermere, by patrolling police officer, PC Jose Da Silva Neto, and her two sons, at 3.45pm, on Sunday.

The 78-year-old was discovered on the first floor of the house, which was described by police as well alight', and was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious burns but died during the night.

One of Mrs Jacksons' sons was also taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
