KENDAL’S Brewery Art’s centre will be welcoming the musical talents of Peat & Diesel and Ruairidh Maclean on March 2.

The live music starts at 7:30pm in the Malt Room, with the band bringing their popular style of music to Kendal.

The band includes Calum 'Boydie' MacLeod (guitar and vocals), Innes Scott (accordion) and Uilly Macleod (drums).

Ruairidh Maclean, who is a popular accordion player, will be their opening act and has played with the group previously.

The three-piece band from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, has previously won ‘Live Act of the Year’ at the Scots Trad Music awards 2019.

They also won the 2020 Best Music Video for Calum’s Dan’s Transit Van.

Innes ScInnes Scott said: “We have been on the road for about 10 days so far with the

“Away with your wellies tour’ which has brought us as far south as Brighton. After that we slowly began heading north playing various venues along the way.

“We are delighted about finishing the first leg of the tour in Kendal as the further north we travel the more welcoming the people become.

“The fact we are also playing out to a sold-out crowd will certainly give us all a night to remember. A bit of advice though - get along early as Ruairidh Maclean AKA RuMac Music will be on stage before us and you are in for a treat, he’s off his head.”

Uilleam Macleod said: “The band are delighted to be finishing off our round of dates in Kendal this Saturday.

“We've been doing less and less mistakes every show and we're now just about ready to play in front of an audience.

“We couldn't be more excited to be playing our songs in front of a sold-out crowd. Is the Kendal mint cake good, aye? Catch you all tomorrow.”ott said: “We have been on the road for about 10 days so far with the

Ruairidh said: “We’re looking forward to it. It will be my first time in Kendal.

“The guy who manages Peat and Diesel owns the pub I play in a lot so he offered me a spot to support them.

“I’ve played the accordion since I was nine and played professional since 2019. Before that I was a lorry driver by trade.

“I do some covers by ACDC, couple of variations on some songs. Weird and loud, is my style.

“Some say it’s funny but it’s just me being real. Looking forward to the show.”
