If you are looking for some plans to keep entertained over the next week, look no further as we have rounded up the events taking place across South Lakeland.

1. Kendal Colour Dash

Head down to Kirkbie Kendal School on Sunday, April 24 at 10am for the start of Kendal Colour Dash. This will be the first time the event has gone ahead due to the pandemic.

Also joining will be the colour station sponsors; Hackney & Leigh, The key cobbler and Turner Scott Lettings.

2. Nearly Dan

On Saturday, April 23 at 7:30 you will be able to watch Nearly Dan performing at Brewery Arts in Kendal. 

Nearly Dan is a saviour to the growing legions of Dan fans, desperate to hear the meticulously crafted grooves and allusive lyrical style of Donald Fagen & Walter Becker. 

Tickets are still available and cost £18.80. 

3. Ulverston's Got Soul 

Saturday, April 23 brings the return of Ulverston's Got Soul, the event starts at 6:30pm at The Coro in Ulverston.

The event offers to bring a night of entertainment and soul. 

4. Kendal Wall

Climbing is a fun, accessible sport for all the family and a fantastic way to spend time together! Our instructed sessions are perfect for weekends and holiday times to keep the kids entertained.

Theur specially trained instructors will guide you through your session, taking care of the safety aspects so you can relax and just have fun!

5. Cumbrian branch of the Green Lane Association

On Saturday, April 23 head down to the Lakeland Motor Museum for the return of the Cumbria branch of the Green Lane Association from around 10am onwards.

The member's vehicles will be displayed in the outdoor exhibition area.

6. Dorothy: Writer, Sister, Friend

Head down to Dove Cottage in Grasmere for Dorothy Wordsworth's story, told in her own words from original manuscripts in celebration of her 250th birthday.

The exhibition kicked off on Friday, April 1 between 10am and 4pm and will remain through to the summer. Tickets can be purchased on the Wordsworth Grasmere website. 

7. Kendal Castle Sprint Triathlon

Renamed the Kendal Castle Triathlon This is a great first sprint distance triathlon, we make it our mission to make this a really relaxed, friendly event.

The event starts at 8:00am on Sunday, April 2022. 

8. Street Market

This Saturday, you can head down to the Ulverston street market and grab yourself some bargains and support independent local businesses. The market takes place every Thursday and Saturday.

9. South Lakeland Zoo entry

Over the weekend head down to South Lakeland Zoo where you can join zoo staff and find out what it means to be a vet working in a zoo. You will be able to tour the zoo looking at its variety of animals. 

10. Kendal Town Football Club

On Saturday, April 23 at 3pm head down to the ST&B Accountants stadium for Kendal Town vs Widnes. 

The teams currently play in the North Premier League - West Division.
