A PUBLISHED author from Kirkby Lonsdale has celebrated the arrival of her debut novel and hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams.

Danielle Owen-Jones has recently enjoyed the publication of her debut book 'Stone Broke Heiress' which was launched at the Book Lounge on April 29.

The riches to rags story is available on e-book, paperback, and audiobook.

The journalist and PR consultant gained a two book deal with Bookouture publishers in July 2021, and this is her first novel with the company.

Danielle said: "Since the launch it’s been amazing. Such an exciting time, and the feedback and support from readers has been absolutely wonderful. I feel very lucky because this truly is a dream come true for me.

"I’m currently working through the different editing stages of book two with my publisher. It’s set for a summer release and it’s another Northern-based rom com – this time about two strangers who buy a house together. They’re complete opposites in every way and can’t stand each other. What could go wrong?

"I would definitely like to inspire others with their stories. I have a very, very long list of stories I’d love to write in the rom com genre. I’m always jotting down ideas or potential plots or characters whenever they spring to mind. I’m planning on starting book three this summer.

"To other people who are aspiring writers, I’d say to go for it. If your aim is to get a traditional publishing deal, be prepared for the ups and downs, but don’t let it put you off – persevere and believe in yourself.

"On a practical level, I’d say to read widely in all genres, but especially the genre you want to write in. And try to make connections with other like-minded writers who understand everything you’re going through – that can make the world of difference.
