KENDAL will be hosting an up-and-coming DJ from Manchester at a popular bar.

Ollie Jamieson, also known as DJ Notchyy, who was born in Kendal will be performing at Ruskin’s Bar on Stricklandgate.

Well known on the Manchester and Wigan music scenes, this will be DJ Notchyy’s first headline gig at Kendal.

Having already built a reputation on as a front and centre figure at numerous festivals, and making appearances on Radio 1’s The Chillest Show and BBC Radio Cumbra, Ollie is approaching his first headline gig on May 14.

Ollie said: “This will be my first headline gig and also my first time playing in Kendal.

"I live in Wigan now but I’m really excited for Saturday night.

“I usually perform in Manchester and Wigan, and I’ve been playing for about eight years now. I’ve only been making my own music for about five years.

“I lived in Kendal about seven years ago and I am looking forward to getting back.

“Some of my stuff has been inspired by the lakes.

"I spend a day in lockdown just recording loads of field sounds which I incorporate into my music. A lot of it from Coniston Lakes.

“I’ve got a track called Ruskins which I’ll play when I’m at the bar this weekend.”
