NATIONAL Children’s Day was celebrated in the UK last week, celebrating the importance of a healthy childhood and how we need to protect the rights and freedoms of children in order to ensure that they can grow into happy, healthy adults.

Before we know it, the summer holidays will arrive, meaning that Carlisle parents will be looking for things to do to keep their children entertained.

Ten places to take children in Carlisle, selected by you, are:

Walby Farm Park – The award-winning, all-weather attraction has a variety of animals to interact with and acres of outdoor space to have a fun day out.

Carlisle Castle – The castle is open over the weekends for families to discover historic moments of the city’s past.

Aztec Soft Play – The Crown Street venue’s 3D play frames have been expertly designed to meet the different needs of children from 0 to 12 years and offer a safe, healthy environment to play, develop and explore.

Fusion Trampoline Park – Located on Millrace Road, the venue also hosts toddler sessions, charging just £5 per person for the little ones to have a bounce along to Disney classics.

Bitts Park – The adventure playground and pirate ship sand play area located in Carlisle’s first public park is definitely one way to get your kids to let off some steam.

Tullie House – The museum usually hosts some spectacular exhibitions like the Paddington Bear event, with Tuesday Tales for kids to enjoy some storytelling and Tullie Toddlers sessions keeping the young ones entertained.

Holme Head House – The Denton Street location is primarily a space for your creative imaginations to run riot! We offer painting, clay, woodwork, sewing, cooking and much more!

Brickstation – Located on English Damside, previous visitors have praised the Lego-themed play centre for being somewhere fun and educational to take children, with very friendly and helpful staff, making it a great place to visit, whatever the weather.
