Kendal's away woes continued after they lost by seven wickets at Garstang with Chris Millers team still searching for their first away win of the season.

The Auld Greys fielded a much changed team line up, where Max Winskell opened the batting in the absence of Darren Nightingale while Oliver,Matthew and Doug Yarker were also in the starting eleven.

Kendal's difficulties with the bat continued in the first innings after Rizwan Patel’s return of 3-11 saw Kendal ultimately bowled out for just 74 off 46.3 overs.

Despite Kuldeep Singhs second innings return of 3-22, Garstang knocked the runs off in just 14.3 overs closing on 80-3 where Michael Walling’s undefeated knock of 30 did the damage.

Kendal who lost the toss and were put into bat made a bad start after both Max Winskell and Chris Miller were dismissed.

Winskell who batted at number two was run out by Ryan Pearson while Miller picked out Punit Bisht off the bowling of Rizwan Patel.

Rongsen Jonathan attempted to recover the innings after he top scored with 19 off 44 balls, however the former Morecambe Professionals resistance came to an end when he was trapped LBW by Patel.

Kendal continued to lose wickets in quick succession after they slumped onto 49-8, with Sam Fletcher, Paul Dodds, Harry Lee, Kuldeep Singh and Oliver Yarker all dismissed.

Danny Gilbert brought into the attack saw off both Fletcher and Lee, while Ian walling bowled Kuldeep Singh.

Ben Woodruff helped himself to a wicket seeing off Oliver Yarker before Punit Bisht dismissed Matthew Yarker and Doug Yarker with Kendal bowled out for 74 off 46.3 overs.

In reply Michael Wellings and Michael Walling posted a quick fire first wicket stand of 22 before Kuldeep Singh dismissed Welling’s who was caught by Max Winskell.

Singh went onto bowl both Punit Bisht and Mark Walling however Michael Walling’s undefeated 30 and Ryan Pearsons undefeated 15 saw Garstang to victory as they closed on 80-3 off 14.3 overs.

Kendal host defending Northern League title holders and league leaders Blackpool on Saturday.
