A renowned academy for aspiring hospitality workers is to host its annual open day at the Lake District's most exclusive restaurant.

The Simon Rogan Academy, which launched in the summer of 2021, is giving students considering enrolling in the course a chance to take a look behind the scenes of L'Enclume, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant owned by Simon Rogan.

Prospective students will meet members of the team and discover more about the fully accredited Academy apprenticeship delivered in conjunction with Kendal College.

There will be up to 12 student places available for aspiring chefs and a further 12 places for those considering a career front-of-house on the 18-month course, which culminates in a fully expensed week-long internship at Roganic, Simon Rogan's Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong.

Marcin Maryniak, Head of HR & Recruitment with Umbel Restaurant Group, said: "The Academy provides people with little or no experience of hospitality with the opportunity of being taught by some of the best in the business, which is why they should grasp the chance with both hands if they are serious about progressing and becoming the next generation of industry professionals."

Those attending the open day will have an opportunity to try their hand at wine decanting, cheese tasting, cocktail making, and to find out more about Our Farm, Simon's 12-acre production farm close to Cartmel.

Applications for the course close on Friday, June 10, 2022.
