Kendal United’s Ladies team are on the lookout for players to join as they continue to play in the Andrea Buggy Woman’s summer league.

The team, who play their games at The Millennium Playing Fields and Kendal United’s Castle Drive, need more players to join so that they have sufficient numbers to compete in a very difficult league competition.

Kendal United have done well to keep their senior Ladies team going during the summer season, as they see it as an opportunity for open age females to keep on playing during the off season.

The Andrea Buggy Woman’s nine aside league play every Wednesday night throughout the summer, with the games lasting 80 minutes.

The division which consists of 11 teams includes Crown Newlaithes, Whitehaven, Cockermouth, Abbeytown, Penrith, Stanwix, Workington, Vickerstown, Allerdale and Xtreme Fitness Ladies.

Kendal United Ladies have also competed during the winter season where they have participated in The Cumberland FA Woman’s Festivals and they intend to enter into the festivals next season.

The team’s long-term aim is to play in an open age Winter League but that is dependent on whether or not they can get more numbers to join their squad.

Kendal United despite their problems have continued to battle on playing every Wednesday night regardless of their lack of numbers.

The Club itself boasts a strong girl’s section from Under 9’s to Under 15’s, where most of their girls’ teams did well especially the Under 9’s and Under 11’s.

Kendal United’s Senior Ladies team are next in action at Castle Drive on Wednesday night when they host Abbeytown before the league gets split so the season can continue until the end of August.

Female 16 and over who would be interested in playing for the team or would like further details contact Kendal United Ladies team manager Geoff Rowlinson on: 07747 725443 or email geoffrowli@gmail.com.
