AN ANTIQUES gallery will be holding a launch event for Lake District author Ellie Wood.

Yew Tree Barn, Low Newton is delighted to be hosting a very special evening at Harry’s, at 6.30pm on 23rd June, as the team looks forward to welcoming author Ellie Wood, as she introduces her debut novel The Wildwater Women.

Guest will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of canapes created by our head chef Gerald van der Walt and a glass of wine, whilst listening to an in-person reading by Ellie, followed by a question-and-answer session and the chance to get a copy of the book signed in person by the author.

Ellie grew up in the Lake District and the landscape inspires her writing in many ways, yet The Wildwater Women is much more than a love song to the Lakes, it’s a celebration of friendship, and about feeling the fear and finding a way through – uplifting fiction at its best.

Her novel follows four women, all from very different backgrounds, whose lives converge on the shore of Rydal, as they take the plunge and start wild swimming together. As the story unfolds, fledgling friendships develop, but can the women help each other face their hopes and fears?

Tickets are priced at £10 per person and can be purchased in person at Yew Tree Barn or through the website.
