POET Laureate Simon Armitage is returning to the Lakes for an evening of poetry.
Armitage will read from a selection of his best-known work at the event on September 13 at The Daffodil Hotel, Grasmere.
There will be a book signing after the reading, with copies of Simon Armitage’s books available to purchase.
Wordsworth Grasmere has asked that people bring cash.
“His streetwise humour, inventive use of conversational speech and eye for the extraordinary in the ordinary will make this evening an unforgettable experience,” said a Wordsworth Grasmere spokesman.
Tickets are £15 and can be bought on Wordsworth Grasmere’s website.
Five free tickets are available for those experiencing financial hardship that would otherwise not be able to attend.
This is on a first come first served basis with no questions asked about situation.
