Netherfield came away with a draw against Chorley following their competitive match.

The Field ended up taking twelve points in comparison to Chorley’s four in an improved performance by Matt Jackson's team.

The Field who were on a poor run of form were dealt a further blow prior to the game after Club Professional Asutosh Singh was unavailable due to injury, which meant that Sagar Udeshi deputised as Sub professional for the game.

Udeshi who ply’s his trade at Ryhope Cricket Club played an important part for Netherfield especially during the second innings after he finished with figures for 4-16.

However Netherfield batted well during the first innings following Ben Barrows knock of 91 and Brad Earls 55 saw the hosts close on an imposing 225-7 off 50 overs.

Chorley led by Harry Barclays knock of 76 offered some resistance during the second innings before they closed on 184-9.

After losing the toss and being put into bat, Netherfield made a bad start after Josh Dixon was caught behind by Harry Barclay off the bowling of Will Moulton.

However Netherfield soon recovered thanks to Ben Barrow and Reece Irving who pushed the score along onto 55 before Reece who scored a steady knock of 22 departed when he was caught by Barclay off Sam Steeples delivery.

Ben Barrow and Brad Earl played some stunning shots after they both surged Netherfield ahead where they were soon on 132.

Earl who scored 55 off 56 balls saw his innings come to an end after being trapped LBW by Ian Oakes, before Sagar Udeshi scored a quick fire 31 off 29 before he was caught by Louis Johnson from Edwin Moultons delivery.

Ben Barrow scored 91 off 135 before being bowled by Samuel Steeple as Netherfield were on 207-5, Chorley picked up some late wickets with Edwin Moulton seeing off both Finlay Richardson and John Mason while Netherfield closed on 225-7.

The hosts made a strong start to the second innings when John Mason who opened the bowling saw off Andrew Holdsworth who was caught by Josh Dixon.

Netherfield continued to take wickets after Samuel Medhurst despatched of Will Moulton who was caught by Oli Wileman before Finlay Richardson stumped Roshen Silva off Reece Irvings delivery.

Harry Barclays impressive knock of 76 off 106 balls gave the visitors a chance as they moved on to 144. However the game swung in Netherfields favour when Samuel Medhurst bowled Barclay before he picked up the scalp of Edwin Mouton.

Sagar Udeshi edged Netherfield closer to victory after he saw off Alfie Dobson,Alexander Howarth, Samuel Steeple and Joseph Tiffin.

However both Louis Johnson and Ian Oakes saw out the last over as the visitors closed on 184-9, while Netherfield picked up 12 points. Netherfield travel to Lancaster on Saturday.
