CUMBRIA young farmers were pulling for success at the Cumberland Show last Saturday.

The Cumbria YFC Tug of War county final is one of the most important county competitions, and young farmers were 'excited' to be holding it on the show's new showfield.

The results were as follows:

Men’s: 1st – Penrith YFC, 2nd – Grayrigg YFC, 3rd – Pennine YFC, 4th – Kent Estuary YFC

Ladies: 1st – Greysouthen YFC, 2nd – Sedbergh YFC, 3rd – Skelton YFC, 4th – Pennine YFC

Juniors: 1st – Penrith YFC, 2nd – Greysouthen YFC, 3rd – Wigton YFC, 4th – Sedbergh YFC

4 x 4: 1st – Northern District A, 2nd – Northern District B, 3rd – Southern District A, 4th – Northern District C

The top three teams will now go on to compete at the Northern Area Field Day, hosted by the Yorkshire YFC which will take place Saturday, June 25 at Darlington Farmers Auction Mart.

Judges: Mr Adrian Willis, Miss Clare Johnson and Mr Joe Birch.
