The Globe Theatre will be putting on a production of a Shakespeare play at the Parish Church in Kirkby Stephen.

This is part of their Globe on Tour where the production team put on performances of Julius Caesar across the UK.

The play is directed by Diane Page, winner of the 2021 JMK Award, and features actors from the famous Globe Theatre in London.

The performance will be on 19 June, and tickets are £15 at full price, £5 for under 26s and free for students.

Globe on Tour is inspired by what company tours did in Shakespeare's day, which saw small groups of actors juggling a variety of roles in multiple plays entertaining crowds outside of London.

However, this year Globe on Tour is focusing on one play, and is using a full cast of actors.

The tour started at Morden Hall Park in London in April and will finish at Hever Festival in Cambridge on September 22.

Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare's tragedies, and was first performed in 1599.
