A BABY formula business has put forward proposals for a new building.

Kendal Nutricare has submitted a planning application to South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) for the creation of a new evaporator building on its site in Mint Bridge Road.

Planning documents state the building has been designed ‘sympathetically’ to match the other buildings on site.

They also added that the plans ‘will have no impact on the amenities of areas surrounding the site’ and existing pedestrian and vehicular access from the highway will not be altered.

“The proposed evaporator building will have a ground floor area of approximately 210 sq m and will house specialist evaporator plan including internal vertical access to the plant,” said documents.

“The proposed evaporator building has been designed to match the existing buildings which will be adjacent to it using wall cladding and roof cladding materials of similar profile and colour.

“The roof pitch will be similar to the existing adjacent building.

“All existing vehicular and pedestrian accesses from the public highway will remain unaltered.

“All parking, access, circulation and turning areas within the site will also remain as existing.

“The proposed additional building will provide an additional evaporator facility in connection with milk processing for infant formula production.

“Being within the centre of an industrial site there are no landscape issues to be addressed.

“All existing fences to the boundaries of the site will remain unaltered.

“The proposed evaporator building has been designed sympathetically with existing adjacent buildings, complies with relevant planning policies and will have no impact on the amenities of areas surrounding the site and we hope that it will be favourably considered.”
