BARROW'S Love Island star has caused a social media storm after appearing to mock one of his fellow contestants.

Rugby player Jacques O'Neill, who hails from Barrow and attended Dowdales School, has come under fire from fellow contestant Tasha Ghouri's dad, as a viral video of him surfaced making offensive comments about her.

Jacques, who quit the show due to his suffering mental health, could be seen watching the show as Tasha, one of the final Islanders, was pledging her love to Andrew, shouting at the TV:

"You are a liar, an actress."

The video was posted to Jacques' private Instagram stories, and fans, Tasha herself, and now Tasha's father, have taken to social media to vent their fury at the rugby league star.

Her father said: "Some people grow and mature from their Island experience, some don't.

"It is what it is."

One fan posted: "Jacques mocking Tasha in his private story is not only disgusting but a coward move.

"Only a few weeks ago he was advocating for mental health"

Another commented: "I was willing to give Jacques the benefit of the doubt and that he was truly working on himself.

"Then you see the clip of him belittling Tasha who's done nothing to him.

"Redemption arc folded like a deck of cards."

A third added:

"I'm not even shocked I won't lie to you he radiates bully energy watching him as the season went on reminded me exactly like the guys I went to school with who bullied those they saw weaker than them but would disguise it all in the name of banter when it's anything but.

"Hope this opens people eyes to the exact type of guy Jacques is."
