(ABOVE) A section of the tudor style woodwork on the Toll House on the corner of the Natland and Burton Roads.

The original house was built in about 1750 and a second erected in 1907 which is the one we know of today, the downfall of the toll house was probably due to the fact that crafty locals would readily find an alternative route to avoid paying the toll fee.
