Antiques on High has shops in various parts of the UK, including one which opened in Bowness in May 2021. The company has just been named Best Nationwide High Street Antique Centre 2022.

In the arts world Cumbrian actress Hannah Griffiths will star in Red Rose, a new horror series starting on BBC Three on August 15. The series follows a group of teenage friends during the summer of their GCSEs. It will be the professional screen debut for Hannah, who plays a school bully called Big Jenna.

Meanwhile businessman Neil Jurd, from Kendal, has been shortlisted for the Military Values in Business category in this year's British Ex-Forces in Business Awards. Mr Jurd set up his own specialist leadership development business in 2017.

Continuing on the theme of positivity, a bid for £50m of public investment for Eden Project North in Morecambe has been submitted by Lancaster City Council to the Government's Levelling up Fund.
