A DECORATED tree on the edge of a popular South Lakeland fell has been the subject of great curiosity among walkers and nearby residents in recent weeks.
The tree, which hangs precariously over the edge of Scout Scar, near Kendal, has been decorated with brightly coloured pipe cleaners and flowers, but the reason why remains unclear.
Underbarrow & Bradleyfield Parish Council is also in the dark and The Westmorland Gazette would be interested to hear from anybody who can shed light on the mystery.
Is it a memorial? Does it have religious significance? Or was it simply an attempt to brighten up the skyline?
