GIMMER lambs are taking to the big screen in a new DVD that uncovers the highs and lows of local sheep sales.
Launched by Bonnysheep.com, which was established three years ago to provide an online catalogue of different breeds of sheep for farmers, the DVD documents Mule Gimmer Lamb sales in local marts around the district using footage shot throughout last year's particularly difficult sale period in the midst of foot-and-mouth outbreaks in the south of England and bluetongue disease.
The film shows extensive coverage of the sale at Kendal Auction Mart, looking closely at the prize-winners before recording the highlights from the ring during the sale. Skipton Show and Sale, the Bentham Shearling Sale and the Saturday Sale of Gimmer Lambs at Bentham also feature on the DVD.
