EXCITEMENT is mounting in Kendal after it was announced the town would be at the forefront of preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Kendal Judo Club has been chosen by Sport England to appear in the official pre-games Training Camp Guide, proving once again that it is regarded as a world-class centre of sporting excellence.
This means teams from all over the world could choose the club as a training venue, in Olympic year.
Mike Liptrott, chief coach at the club, said: "This gives us recognition in the wider world. In the judo world we have been recognised for a while, but people are now starting to realise what is here."
