A MAN is set to appear in court accused of multiple firearms and shotgun related charges.

Colm McNutt, of Blawith, near Ulverston, is accused of two charges of failing to comply with conditions of certificates for a shotgun and firearms.

He is charged with failing to notify the chief officer of police as soon as reasonably practicable of a change in his permanent address on April 15, 2022, regarding the weapons.

He is also facing three charges of failing to comply with the conditions of a firearms certificate.

The charges accuse Mr McNutt of failing to secure as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, access to a Tikka bolt action rifle, a Blaser bolt action rifle, and a quantity of ammunition, on May 13, 2022.

The 34-year-old has previously pleaded not guilty to all five charges.

He will face trial and South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 7.
