CUMBRIA Police have arrested a man on suspicion of burglary following reports of items being stolen from sheds and garages in the Ulverston area.
Officers have arrested a 42-year-man from the Ulverston area on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary after several reports over the past two weeks.
He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Police have advised members of the public to ensure side gates, sheds and garages are locked with a good quality lock in order to protect their property.
They also urge everyone to keep cash and valuables locked away or well hidden, remove keys from locks and to consider increasing home security by installing CCTV cameras or chains.
If you see any suspicious activity or think you have been a victim of burglary, contact police on 101 or report it via the website at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it
Any reports will be investigated under Operation Themis – Cumbria Constabulary’s response to focus on burglaries.
