SOUTH Lakes Police have arrested two alleged fraudsters said to have illegally stayed at a hotel in Windermere.
The two individuals were detained after they were found to have used a cloned bank card in order to reap the rewards of staying at an expensive hotel in the highly-sought after Lake District location, police said.
Posting the news of the arrests on Facebook, South Lakes Police said: “Millions of visitors come to the Lake District each year.
“With its stunning scenery, fantastic hotels, cosy pubs and shopping, it has something for everyone.
“However, if you’re looking to stay in a high-end hotel and enjoy the food and wine from its award-winning restaurant, don’t do it using a cloned bank card.
