A man has been charged after police discovered 8kg of Cannabis when a vehicle was stopped on the M6 near Kendal.

Officers made the stop near Killington Services on Friday, November 17, with the product seized estimated to have a street value of around £80,000.

Quan Din Ngo, 30, of no fixed address, has since been charged with possession of a class B drug with intent to supply. 

He is due to appear before Carlisle Crown court on December 21, 2023.

A second man, aged 59, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.

He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

The seizure forms part of Operation Alliance, which is Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
