A GAMER'S paradise has opened in Kendal town centre.
Beer and Pretzel Gaming opened to the public on August 17 at 95 and 95a Highate - the previous home of The Deli @ 95.
Beer and Pretzel Gaming has grown from a small table started in the indoor market of Westmorland Shopping Centre in April 2023.
Now it offers a large space for gaming aficionados for day-to-day gaming activities and a wider selection of items.
Shop owner James Gerard-Hudson explained the jump to the shop was motivated by the 'uncertainty' of the 'market's future'.
"With the college moving in and talks for renovations I was looking into the surrounding area and realised that there is no other shop in the entire South Lakes that is doing what I am doing and if I don't see the opportunity to try and strike now and have this shop that I have always wanted then that opportunity could miss me by completely," he said.

The shop offers a range of board games, card games, anime memorabilia, toys and tables available for people to play. Drinks and snacks are also available.
James also explained the meaning behind the shop's name.
He said: "It is a term that has been coined by gamers to refer to games that are casual. It is a game that does not require too much time and thinking. It is something you can play whilst you are having a drink and a snack."
Event and gaming nights will also be hosted including a Pokémon Trainers Club every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.
"There is very little to do in Kendal on a Sunday, especially for the younger lot so I thought to myself if I can provide somewhere to play and to be out with their friends we can keep the ball rolling and have fun," he said.
The shop is open from Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 5.30pm and Friday and Sunday from 12pm to 5.30pm.
