AN 89-YEAR-old man who was a passenger when a car crashed on a Cumbria road died in hospital two days later.
Police are investigating the crash that occurred on August 22 on the A685 near to Grayrigg and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The collision occurred at around 5.20pm and involved only one vehicle – a blue Vauxhall Astra.
The 85-year-old driver and her 89-year-old passenger were taken to hospital.
The passenger - Ronald Simpkins, of Yarm, Stockton-on-Tees - died on Saturday August 24.
The driver has since been released from hospital.
Officers are aware of several witnesses at the scene, some of whom offered help and support to the driver and passenger. They are keen to hear from those people to help with their investigation.
