A pair of walkers in the Lake District were rescued by Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) on Sunday (September 8) after they were caught out without headtorches.
The pair had left early for their walk during daylight hours and were trying to return to Langdale when they misnavigated in Upper Eskdale and were unable to move any further due to the falling darkness.
The team were called around 9.30pm who brought along Jess the rescue dog.

Speaking on its Facebook page, Wasdale MRT member said: "A call was received from Cumbria Police about two walkers who were attempting to return to Langdale and had misnavigated in Upper Eskdale.
"As they had started very early they had not taken head torches, and this prevented them safely moving further. Their location was able to be determined from the coordinates from the police call.
"The team was mobilised and a small party walked to their location. After some re-warming they were walked out to the team vehicles and then taken to a nearby car park to pick up a taxi back to Langdale."
The rescue lasted nearly five and a half hours ending around 3am.
Seven team members were involved not including Jess the rescue dog.
