POLICE in Kendal have arrested a man who was wanted for an alleged fraud offence committed in Workington.
He is currently being interviewed at Kendal Police Station.
South Lakes Police issued a reminder on how to deal with and prevent fraud.
They said: "Please keep an eye out for elderly neighbours and relatives who are often targeted by rogue traders who cold call and advise that they need repairs to their homes.
"Others may offer gardening or power washing services and can be very forceful in their manner or charge excessive amounts for the work undertaken.
"There are various reputable local companies who can assist with home repairs, gardening etc and can conduct fully insured works and comply with consumer legislation."
If you think someone is being taken advantage of contact Police on 999 in an emergency or seek advice from W&F Council's Trading Standards Team or Citizens Advice.
