THERE was a partial solar eclipse this morning when the Moon passes in front of the Sun.
A portion of the Sun was obscured by the moon, giving the impression that a ‘bite’ had been taken from the side of our nearest star.
Viewing the eclipse with the wrong equipment can be very dangerous. The Eddington Astronomical Society set up special filtered projection equipment for people to watch the eclipse through. They were at Abbot Hall Park in Kendal this morning from 9am, and The Westmorland Gazette video team was there to film it.....
Alternatively, log on to the Gazette website later this morning to see a video of the eclipse filmed with specialist equipment.
