A DEDICATED team from the Lancaster Canal Trust turned out to Levens Park yesterday (Sept 24) for the unveiling of new fingerposts along the Lancaster Canal route.
The signposts were unveiled by owner of Levens Hall and chairman of The Lancaster Canal Trust, Hal Bagot along with Cumbria Tourism chief executive, Ian Stevens - who hopes the signposts will help to improve the area.
Starting at Canal Head in Kendal, the Lancaster Canal route extends south to Tewitfield in Lancashire.
The carved oak signs all carry the engraving Lancaster Canal Trail and the trust logo and were installed by a Brampton based specialist firm.
The Trust has invested £4000 on the project – which is aimed at raising awareness about the presence of the old canal and points of interest along its course.
