DRAGON’S Den winner Imran Hakim will be in Barrow next Friday to launch the Furness Young Professionals’ season of ‘inspiring young entrepreneurs’.
Imran has been running his own businesses since the age of 16, and is best-known for his appearance on TV’s Dragon’s Den, looking to fund the development of the iTeddy, which is hailed as ‘the Teddy Bear brand for the 21st century’ and now retails in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Sally Broom, an Ulverston-based travel entrepreneur who runs Furness Young Professionals, met Imran at the Institute of Directors awards in Manchester, where she was a finalist for the IoD’s Rising Star Award.
She said: “Imran is a huge inspiration for young people living in the North West. He has strived to bring innovation and entrepreneurship into the workplace across a range of sectors.
“Graduates and young professionals from around Cumbria can be sure to gain a lot from his visit and presentation.”
Imran will be speaking at The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel and Bar, Barrow, on Friday, October 17. For details, visit www.gofurness.com or email: sally@yoursafeplanet.co.uk.
