BUSINESS is booming for a South Lakeland firm that has recruited more than a dozen new members of staff in recent weeks – and is looking to take on more people in the future.
Metroplan Ltd supplies presentation and display products to education, local government, audio visual, health, office, corporate and hospitality markets.
The Kendal firm, which prides itself on product innovation, quality and customer service, has some 3,500 product lines and sells all over the country.
Metroplan has been developing and designing its own products for many years.
While the company registers its own designs, trademarks and patents for products, they were made by sub-contractors up until earlier this year.
At a time when the UK’s manufacturing base is constantly shrinking, Metroplan has taken the bold step of bringing production under its own roof.
