WOOLWORTH became the latest high street retailer in Kendal to slash prices, offering its "biggest ever sale" to Christmas shoppers.
The 99-year-old store was offering up to 50 per cent off items in an attempt to boost pre-Christmas sales as administrators Deloitte continues in search for a buyer for the troubled retail giant.
Shoppers flocked to the store to snap up some of the many bargains on offer.
