SCHOOL children, pensioners and local traders could be “cut off from the outside world” if a county council proposal to close a Silverdale bus service goes ahead.
The Silverdale Shuttle - which runs from the village to Silverdale train station - could be withdrawn due to Lancashire County Council budget cuts.
County Councillor, Sarah Fishwick, said closure of the service would be “disastrous,” would cause “great difficulty” for residents. There are also concerns in neighbouring Carnforth where the future of the Carnforth Connect - which costs around £50,000 a year to run - also hangs in the balance as county council funding will end in March.
