EIGHT Furness celebrities - including The Westmorland Gazette’s Daniel Orr - are to take to the stage to raise money for a charity close to people’s hearts.
Ulverston reporter Daniel, along with sporting stars and business leaders, has been teamed up with a professional singer and will perform a duet at Barrow’s Nines nightclub next Thursday (October 8).
The aim is to raise money for St. Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston, which is taking part in a national Voices for Hospices event and the live audience will be asked to vote for their favourite acts, with the most popular returning to the stage for a second performance.
“It’s a bit nerve-racking going up on stage but it is for a good cause so I’m willing to make a fool of myself,” said Daniel, 32.
Tickets for the event, which kicks off at 7.30pm and will also feature a raffle, cost £5 and are available from the hospice on 01229-580305.
