WITH snow and freezing temperatures hitting the UK, the RSPB is reminding people how they can help birds survive the cold snap.
Leftovers like grated cheese, cake crumbs, porridge oats, soft fruit, unsalted bacon, cooked rice and pasta and the inside of cooked potatoes could be put out as well as meal worms, fatballs, crushed peanuts, dried fruit and seeds and grain.
Water is also vital for both drinking and bathing and bird baths can be kept from freezing over using small floating items such as twigs or ping pong balls.
