RAMBLERS can now enjoy the scenic views at St John's in the Vale, near Keswick, without intrusive overhead power lines.
More than a kilometre of overhead line has been replaced with underground cables in a £100,000 scheme carried out by United Utilities, the Lake District National Park Authority and Friends of the Lake District.
The project was funded by electricity regulator Ofgem.
To date, around 11 kilometres of overhead lines have been removed in Cumbria.
