MPs will today (Wednesday) be asked to vote on the Hunting with Dogs Bill, which will decide once and for all the future of the area's fell packs. MPs will also be asked to vote on an additional motion to delay enforcing the ban for two years for fox, deer and mink hunting but only three months for hare-coursing. Last time the Bill went to a Commons vote, in June 2003, there was overwhelming support for a ban but its enactment was then blocked by the House of Lords. This time it is subject to the Parliament Act, which removes that possibility.
