CLLR Robinson is wrong to say that a vast majority' of people who attended the public meeting on the merits of a new town council for Morecambe were from the Poulton Residents' Association (Citizen Letters, last week).

The names and addresses supplied by people who attended (except for Lancaster Labour Party members who did not sign the attendance sheet) were from all wards in Morecambe - a vast majority' from his own West End area.

At the close of the meeting many people came to thank me for taking time to explain the process we must go through to form a town council, and the potential cost of the move to local council taxpayers. If he couldn't be bothered to listen or is unable to take in what we said, then that is his problem.

The other questions he mentioned in his letter about relationships with other groups in the town, and management of parks, can only be answered by the people who are elected to a new town council.

If he wants further information then he should watch for it in the Citizen.

Cllr Evelyn Archer, Morecambe.
