K SHOES Male Voice Choir is back on the concert trail with a festive feast of song at Kendal Town Hall on Friday, December 2 (8pm).

Conductor Martin Webster and the boys' share the stage with the ladies of the Amble Singers in a splendid curtain-raiser to Christmas.

n ROLEPLAY by one of the greatest of all playwrights, Alan Ayckbourn, is the latest in a string of successful productions put on by Warton Drama Group.

Performances take place at Warton Village Hall from November 30 until December 3 (7.30pm).

n GOOD to see Deborah Maurice and her Collaborators Theatre Company touring the region again with performances from her grand puppeteers and music by Moot.

Dates for the Fallen Star shows include Sedbergh People's Hall on Friday, December 2 (7pm); Crosthwaite Village Hall on Friday, December 9 (7pm); and Melmerby Village Hall on Saturday, December 10 (7pm).

As well as a mixture of puppets and people from the Collaborators, Moot perform modern jazz, world music, blues and folk fusion.

n A MODERN farce by Raymond Hopkins is set to have audiences rolling in the aisles at the latest Burton Amateur Dramatic Society production.

BADS stage Love Begins at Fifty at Burton Memorial Hall tonight (Friday) and tomorrow at 7.30pm.

It's the hilarious tale of Anita and Clive DeBanks, whose uneventful, 28-year marriage is set to change, when Clive seeks a little more excitement via the local newspaper's Lonely Hearts column and Anita enters a competition for the perfect married couple.
