Morecambe have solved their goalkeeping crisis with the loan signing of Steven Drench from Blackburn Rovers.

Drench, a young England keeper, moves to Christie Park as cover for the injured Ryan Robinson.

Robinson was hurt towards the end of Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy defeat to Bradford City and will be out for up to a month.

And that led to caretaker manager Sammy McIlroy made a few calls and secured the services of 20-year-old Drench from Rovers.

Drench has represented his country at junior level.

He has joined Morecambe for one month and was signed in time to play against York.
