COASTAL homeowners are being urged not to panic over predicted high tides.

The environment Agency says an 'astronomical tide' - caused by the alignment of the sun, moon and earth - is expected to cause the high tide level to rise from seven to 10.2 metres in Arnside and Ulverston between Sunday and Thursday.

Steve Broughton, of the agency, said there would only be a flood risk if the high tide was combined with a strong westerly wind and low pressure.
