A 17-year-old man has been arrested after a pedestrian died on Ulverston's coast road yesterday.
A white Vauxhall Corsa driven by the teenager was involved in a collision with two male pedestrians on the A5087 at Conishead, Bardsea, at its junction with Main Street at 3.50pm yesterday. George Edward Tyson, 61, from Ulverston, died at the scene. The other pedestrian was taken to Furness General Hospital and released after treatment. The teenager has been bailed following his arrest on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and anyone with information is asked to contact PC Simon Tunstall of the Cumbria roads policing unit on 101.
