A disappointing batting performance by Netherfield saw them lose by 85 runs to Leyland at Fox Lane.

The Field who crashed to their second consecutive league defeat bowled well during the first innings after 3 wickets a piece from Oli Wileman and Richie Forsyth saw the hosts all out for 132.

However, 5 wickets a piece from Lukman Vahaluwala and Karl Cross saw Netherfield bowled out for just 47 off 27.3 overs.

Netherfield who lost the toss and were put into field reduced Leyland onto 27-3 after Matt Jackson picked up the wickets of Karl Cross and James Rounding while Shrikant Mundhe bowled Kurtis Watson.

Cross who opened with Rounding saw his tame effort caught by Robbie Dwyer while Rounding himself picked out Richie Forsyth.

Netherfield continued to dominate after Robbie Dwyer saw off Lloyd Tenant who was caught by Shrikant Mundhe with the hosts struggling on 50-4.

Lukman Vahaluwala and Jacob Wright offered some resistance for Leyland who moved onto 108 in the 36th over.

However, Netherfield pulled the game back in their favour after Oli Wileman saw off Vahaluwala who was caught by Shrikant Mundhe.

And once Vahaluwala had been dismissed Netherfield ripped through the hosts with Richie Forsyth trapping Jacob Wright LBW, while Oli Wileman caught and bowled Andrew Makinson.

Forsyth went onto claim his second wicket seeing off Iain Critchley who was caught by James Bowman, before Oli Wileman finished with figures of 3-17 off 7 overs after he dismissed Joe Wallwork Woods who picked out Ben Barrow.

And Forsyth finished the innings off claiming the wicket of David Makinson with Forsysth closing on figures of 3-22 while Leyland were all out for 132.

In reply Netherfield made the worst possible start after collapsing onto 20-3 off just 8 overs after Lukman Vahaluwala picked up the wickets of both Ben Barrow and Richie Forsyth while Karl Cross bowled Josh Dixon.

Netherfield continued to struggle and suffered a further blow after Cross was adjudged to have trapped Shrikant Mundhe LBW while Vahaluwala bowled Brad Earl and trapped Aaron Stephens LBW.

Cross finished with figures of 5-24 off 13.3 overs when he dismissed James Bowman, Matt Jackson, and Oli Wileman with Vahaluwala finished the game off trapping Isaac Medhurst LBW with Netherfield all out for 47 off 27.3 overs.
