THE people of Cartmel got together for a party in the garden of the Royal Oak Pub to support St Mary's Hospice and Cartmel In Bloom – while also having lots of fun.
Music was provided by Smooth Chalk while anyone could join DJ Windy and The Cotton Town Swing Dancers for a ‘30s and ‘40s style dance.
Staff of the pub, as well as many guests, were in period costume – with plenty of inspiration from TV favourite Dad's Army.
First prize for best costume went to horticulturalist and landscape designer Sarah Byrne.
