MORE than £1,300 was raised for charity when the outgoing mayor of Kendal held a ball on Friday night.
Clare Feeney-Johnson, who will hand the mayoral chain to John Bateson later this month, welcomed more than a hundred councillors, residents, traders and representatives from organisations to her farewell bash at the Town Hall.
As well as a feast cooked up by well-known chef Nick Martin - made entirely with ingredients supplied by local producers - guests at the annual event enjoyed theatre and music courtesy of pupils from Kendal College and Queen Katherine School.
The raffle's proceeds will be split between Manna House, a Kendal-based charity for the homeless, and Kendal Youth Projects, a scheme which rewards deserving youngsters.
